How Can We Help?

During activation, I get the error "An error occurred during activation"

The Question

When I try to activate SmrtGuard on my Android, it gives the error "An error occurred during activation". What's going on?

The Answer

We are seeing this error message with users that are activating with the Free version of SmrtGuard. The most likely reason is that your email that you are using for activation is already in our system (meaning you have or had a previous SmrtGuard account with us). Another reason could be that you may have a duplicate account with us that is causing the conflict.

There are two approaches:

Option 1: If you have an existing SmrtGuard account and want to link your current device to this account, please update your SmrtGuard account online with the new device information. After updating your account, try activating again. You can find more instructions on how to switch devices here.

Option 2: If you want to create a new account, use an email address that is not associated to any active or previous SmrtGuard account.

If none of these options work, please contact us at support@smrtguard.com for further assistance.
