How Can We Help?

I see a SmrtGuard Notification Icon..What is it?

The Question

I see a SmrtGuard notification icon on my BlackBerry...What is it and how do I make it go away?

Answer

With SmrtGuard v2.55, a notification icon will pop up to notify the user of an error that has occurred or if the anti-spyware has caught anything. Here are the scenarios of when a notification will appear and how to remove it.

1) A backup has failed or is unauthorized and user action is required.

To remove the notification, you will need to fix the backup issue - For unauthorized error messages, you can typically solve this by reactivating the software (My Account --> Start Button) on the device.

2) The anti-spyware scanner has picked up something that requires the attention of the user.

To remove the notification, please complete the action to remove or ignore the potential threat.

Note: If you would like the notification NOT to be there, go to the Options menu and uncheck the "Enable Homescreen Indicator" checkbox
