I get an "unauthorized" error when backing up on the device. Why?


Answer

An "unauthorized" error means the device is not correctly authorized for your account. This usually occurs after you have switched devices. To fix this issue, you will need to go through the reactivation process on the device:


How to Reactivate on the Device:

**Note before you reactivate, make sure your BlackBerry Pin is updated on your Web Account settings

1) Go to the SmrtGuard device app main menu

2) Click on the BB Menu Key and select the "About SmrtGuard" option

3) Click on the BB menu Key again and select "Reactivate"

4) Enter your account email and password

5) Follow the verification process

6) Once you have successfully activated, try backing up again
